After the afflictive backward night beating that ultimately became Conan O’Brien’s acceleration again affecting abatement as host of the “Tonight Show,” the antic is a freebird as of September 1, 2010. His new arrangement allows him to go to any arrangement that would accept him from September 2. Conan may not accept ashore backward night gold on the “Tonight Show” as backup to Jay Leno’s longstanding hosting the show, but he did administer to bang a accord with the NBC administration absolution him from NBC. The accord was closed on January 21st authoritative Conan chargeless at last. Well, chargeless at aftermost as anon as September 1st rolls around.

Meanwhile, the antic is accepted to be funnier than ever. Whatever abroad can he be afterwards such a discredit alpha and accomplishment from the arrangement as host of one of the world’s best adored backward night allocution shows? It was not a gig that Jay Leno abounding calmly but somehow audiences were able to accomplish the alteration from the allegorical Johnny Carson. Sadly, Conan did not transcend his cast of amusement with the show’s loyal followers as able-bodied as aboriginal hoped. What appearance should Conan O’Brien host next?

justin timberlake hopes for haiti

23 January, 2010 (11:50) | Uncategorized | By: admin

let us save haiti,As part of the Hope for Haiti event/telethon last night, Justin Timberlake & Matt Morris joined forces to perform a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. We talked about the even a bit when we noted Rihanna’s appearance/performance (the same show also featured Wyclef Jean and Maxwell) on Oprah last week for the benefit. I’m going to track down other performances and post them as I find them, but for now we have the video below to watch and listen.

justin timberlake hopes for haiti

I do not pretend to be an expert in music, but Timberlake has always been more funky than a lot (well, the minority actually) would like to admit since he’s gone solo, and I thought this was a pretty sweet performance. I have to admit not knowing who Matt Morris was but his latest album,When Everything Breaks Open dropped earlier this month. “Hallelujah,” will join other performance for “Hope for Haiti” performances will be available for purchase and download at iTunes.

I pulled this bit from MTV’s report: customers can exclusively pre-order the “Hope for Haiti Now” full-performance album ($7.99) and the full two-hour video telecast ($1.99). Pre-orders will be delivered in the days following the telethon. Individual audio performances will also be available for purchase and download for 99 cents each in the days following the telethon. Apple, the record labels and the artists will donate their share of the proceeds to Haiti relief funds managed by “Hope for Haiti Now” charities, including the Red Cross and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti foundation. Performances will also be available for purchase in the days following the event through Amazon’s MP3 service and Rhapsody, through distribution provided by INgrooves.

Ho old is madonna right now?

23 January, 2010 (11:46) | Uncategorized | By: admin

How old is madonna ? one of you know?Is Madonna old enough for plastic surgery? Ok, yes is the answer. She absolutely is old enough for plastic surgery. But, did she really need to go down the predictably nip and tuck path so many aging stars unfortunately opt for rather than growing old the old fashion why like the rest of us. The icon and mom Madonna has gone under the knife and the result are gathering mixed opinions.W magazine unveils unflattering photos of the 51 year old material girl.

W magazine appears to the first to unveil the unflattering photos of the 51 year old Goddess of Pop. The not so hot photos raise the question of Madonna plastic surgery misstep. On the other hand the photos do also reveal a yummy looking Jesus. Well not the “Jesus,” but the Brazilian born model named Jesus Luz that has been the apple of Madonna eye for several months. He can be seen in the nude with a rather impressive six packs on splendid display. What a heavenly vision indeed? But, really does Madonna need plastic surgery?

You re not Dreaming today

23 January, 2010 (11:41) | Uncategorized | By: admin

What do you mean by this question? Do you mean it literally, or do you mean how you determine everything you experience isn’t some sort of elaborate dream?
To the latter, I would reply that we are barred from all metaphysical knowledge, thus rendering it possible but unknowable, making the question rather irrelevant. To the first, there’s several ways to determine whether you are dreaming:
1) Looking at your hands. Somehow, very rarely in dreams do your hands look normal. A radically different amount of fingers is a sure bet you are dreaming.
2) Looking at a clock or writing. The theory here is that the part of the brain responsible for processing numbers and letters is still asleep. Thus, letters and numbers may appear jumbled, or a digital clock might display very different times if you look at it twice in rapid succession. Nonsensical times such as 27:64 are also possible.
3) Thinking how you got where you are right now. In real life, it’s rather easy to retrace steps using your memory, but in a dream, you’ll very quickly not be able to remember how you suddenly ended up in Paris.
These all depend on being sort of aware in your dream, of course, but doing this regularly in real life will eventually lead to a lucid dream. The philosophical value is perhaps that fake worlds contain imperfections, which could be construed as evidence for our would being ‘real’, for what that is worth.

Apple Magic Mouse Reviews

22 January, 2010 (06:23) | Uncategorized | By: admin

It’s clearly an improved means of interaction with your notebook computer and we may use the word milestone to describe the Apple Magic Mouse in a word. And, it simply won’t get more improved any more; the planet’s first ever multi-touch mouse now reacts to gestures.

It seems like Apple has used a fantastic option regarding release of the Magic Mouse to be a standard equipment with all the iMac. It has given alternative Bluetooth-allowed Mac gadgets a facelift (or mutated them to tremendous-devices) allowing people go full hog on multi-touch makeovers. The initial in this type, it’s much lustrous tool showing off a smooth top-shell, and an attractive piece of engineering.

beginners of Mac clients might uncover the Apple Magic Mouse a bit troublesome for use considering that whole mouse simulates a single button for that multi-touch feature covering the whole top. It takes time finding utilised fot it; however, when you get utilized to it, the remaining is nothing extra when compared with a cakewalk. Scrolling the mouse pointer (in any way) calls for only a finger being moved over the top of the mouse and laptop people shall get pleasure in it. For swiping throughout files, a couple of fingers will be needed. The predictive chip inside has turned the function a whole bunch easier.

The standard optical tracking has been replaced by laser monitoring that’s further compared to some situations sensitive and reacts in the same way over any provided surface. Sure that brands this one-piece manufacturing a lot extra fine when compared with alternative common mice, but it’s enough to take care of the workstation wars.

What Features Make the Magic Mouse Better Compared to The rest?

But, the million dollar query that’s appearing in the minds of the critics is – whether it is perfect to score extended term when compared rival optical mice?

Well, the result made out to be a big yes! And, this is primarily due to its slightly modified ergonomics. Not like others,it is low and aerodynamic, that keeps clear from the contour of your palm. It never make one feel the mouse to be a part of the hand. further, it goes to the inbuilt Bluetooth that frees you from the pain of using slow and untidy dongles (and certainly saves you from the extra expense).

Additional improvement included in Apple Magic mouse is the presence of the a couple of plastic bars beneath; these minimize contact with the surface the mouse is touching but affects monitoring; it’s a thing the mouse is not a control at. And a clear delineation between the right button and the left button would have been a step nearer user-friendliness. However, these will be some thing a user shall get applied to in no time.

Apple introduced touch sensitive scrolling with all the Magic mouse and if anything else, it’s fluid and natural feeling. Any amount of fingers wherever on the mouse surface is sufficient to trigger the feature. The two mode operation is useful, but changing the modes requires reaching the internal settings. Perhaps Apple should believe about devising a touch-response in this aspect as well and function somewhat increased on retaining the aesthetic appeals for longer. It’s painful to see a brand new product giving up the beautiful finish so fast. Otherwise, it is a excellent development from their last product, the Mighty Mouse.

The American Red Cross Mobilizes For Haitian Relief

21 January, 2010 (21:32) | Uncategorized | By: admin

Within hours of the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that devastated Haiti last week, the American Red Cross had begun mounting a massive relief effort, loading Miami-based planes with food and water, distributing thousands of blankets, plastic sheets and other supplies, pledging one million dollars of its own money and partnering with Verizon Wireless on a text campaign that would allow other concerned citizens to contribute more. (As of January 18, this partnership and donations via their website and direct telephone line have generated eighty-seven million dollars.)

As many as one hundred thousand people may have died in the earthquake that ravaged the island nation. Many hundreds of thousands more have been left without food, water, shelter, utilities and access to medical care. It’s been estimated that as many as three million Haitians are in need of some form of relief.

In the absence of the infrastructure necessary to provide food, clean water and medical care to Haiti’s survivors, public health officials fear outbreaks of diarrhea, dengue fever, malaria and measles that may be as devastating as the earthquake itself.

“Our focus right now is more along the lines of comfort needs as far as tarps, blankets, hygiene items, buckets and shelter supplies,” said American Red Cross spokesperson Carrie Housman.

Nevertheless the American Red Cross is in the process of setting up a 150-bed field hospital in downtown Port-au-Prince where it expects to treat 250,000 people. At the request of the US Navy, they have also provided blood and blood products to be used in the treatment of Haitians evacuated to medical facilities in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as well a shipment of blood products to the United Nations Mission in Haiti itself.

Benefiting from its long years of planning for and managing regional disasters, the American Red Cross had access to emergency supplies in its Panamanian warehouses and almost immediately had shelter, food, and cooking utensils enough for five thousand families ready for air transport to Port-au-Prince. Six disaster management specialists accompanied the first relief supplies to Haiti, where they had fifteen professionals on the ground, previously assigned to an HIV/AIDS project.

With a long history of international disaster relief efforts, few other non-governmental agencies have the experience of the American Red Cross in tackling the human needs and logistical nightmares that arise in the immediate wake of a major disaster. Further, following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, American Red Cross supporters have learned the importance of rapid fundraising to address short-term as well as long term relief requirements. The American Red Cross and International Red Cross will remain on the ground in Haiti for months, if not years to come. Devastating destruction may only be moments in the making, but efforts to rebuild can take a generation.

Health care in Haiti a battered system is dealt another blow

21 January, 2010 (07:06) | Uncategorized | By: admin

When a powerful earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday, many of those injured by collapsed buildings lay in the streets pleading for help. Even for those with open fractures and head injuries, there was little else they could do.

Haiti is not prepared to handle disaster.

By every measure, it’s the poorest country in the Western hemisphere and it has a health care system to match.

There have been improvements in overall life expectancy and infant mortality, and vaccination programs have helped largely eradicate some diseases like polio, but the country remains desperate for affordable health services. What few services existed declined in the last two decades because of political instability.

The country spends less than $85 per person on health care every year, and much of what is actually delivered is done by a patchwork of agencies from around the world.

Haiti has a public health crisis, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/Doctors Without Borders, one of several foreign medical aid groups that operate free emergency health services in the country. MSF’s own clinics are often overwhelmed by people who can’t afford to pay for private care. Public hospitals and clinics are plagued by management problems and shortages of medications, says the organization.

“The reality of what we are seeing is severe traumas, head wounds, crushed limbs, severe problems that cannot be dealt with with the level of medical care we currently have available with no infrastructure really to support it,” said Paul McPhun, operations manager for the group’s Canadian section. The country’s health indicators are grim. The average life expectancy is about 52, and Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the region.

More than 138,000 children under five die of preventable diseases every year, and women routinely die terrible deaths in childbirth because they live too far away from medical help, in rural areas without services or simply can’t afford to pay for services.

UNICEF says that out of every 100,000 live births, 670 women died of pregnancy-related causes in 2006. That’s five times the Latin American average.

Diarrhea, respiratory infections, malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS are leading causes of death. There is poor sanitation and increasing malnutrition, brought on by growing poverty.

In rural areas, only 14 per cent of residents have adequate sanitation, and most rural Haitians lack even basic health care services.
